It may sound strange to say, but scrolling Instagram, pinning all the things, and stalking your competitors is NOT the way to build your brand. It is, however, a great way to make you feel like crap by causing chronic comparisonitis, massive overwhelm, or both.

So what’s a gal to do instead?

Put down your phone and get clear on your language. A strong visual brand is built on the foundation of the right words. (I hear all my copywriter friends cheering.)

Your brand is how you communicate what you’re all about and what your clients need. We do that best through language and then use colors and visuals to amplify that language.
