Brand Design for VetCoach International
Helping women sparkle and shine is at the heart of what I do, and working with women who are all about that sparkle makes it so much fun. Filling emails and Voxer messages with emojis is also a love language I share with many of my clients, including this week's reveal. 🎉🥰🦋
Nadina Cojocaru has been a small animal vet for decades and knows first-hand the constant pressure that vets are under. They are caring not only for sick or injured animals but also for their stressed-out owners. It's her mission to help vets get their sparkle back—personally and professionally—through life and weight loss coaching. Through her practice, VetCoach International, she pulls no punches but does it with so much kindness and humor that you can't help but fall in love with her and trust that she wants the very best for her clients—both the furry and the human ones.
Let's dive in to this colorful, sparkly brand. No glitter or metallics required!
1 | Brand Strategy
Through VetCoach International, Nadina helps vets manage stress and establish healthy boundaries which empowers them to stop overeating and overdrinking and bring the sparkle back to their lives. They learn how to take better care of their mental and physical health which always has a cascading benefit in their personal and business lives.
With this in mind, our Big Idea is to help vets "Love Their Vet Life" and her Brand Strategy keywords are sparkly, freedom, and humor. Our color palette is a riot of happiness: lavender for wisdom and magic, coral for vitality and warmth, and indigo for healing and trust. We also threw in a shock of hot pink for energy and passion!
Most designers would default to glitter and metallics for "sparkle," but this often runs counter to a brand that actually looks sparkly. Because nowadays most of our marketing is done online, metallics in digital format often look dingy and flat with gold turning brown and silver appearing gray. By using vibrant colors we keep the sparkly feeling while avoiding any potential drabness. (You may remember this from our brand reveal for Leadcraft.)
2 | Logo Design
Nadina's logo is a combination of playful shapes and bouncing letters, reminiscent of wagging tails and lolling tongues that shout JOY! Using diamond-shaped sparkles instead of glitter and a paw print smack in the middle, we can communicate both what she does and how she does it. Pairing the curvy letters of "VetCoach" with a clean sans serif for "International" keeps it from being overly fussy and tucks a very long word into a small space, while of course keeping it all clean and legible.
3 | Brand Board
As usual, her logo is built in multiple color combinations and the paw print from her logo is her favicon and a simple button. I also designed two different patterns—one with a smattering of happy paw prints and the other a repeated diamond pattern for more sparkles.
4 | Collateral & Social Media
Nadina had a library of brand photos, although the color palette of her old photos was much darker than our new brand direction. As a workaround, I converted her headshots into duotones—photos that use only two of her brand colors instead of full-color shots. These, combined with her patterns and a few select stock images, gave us lots of content for updating her library resources, social media templates and banners, and her podcast cover and episodes.
I even learned a few vet industry standards. For example, hair not pulled back and long sleeves are big no-no's in vet practice which eliminated most of the free stock options. We decided to purchase one stock image and have a small library saved in iStock Photos should she ever need more images down the road. As always, everything is organized in Canva for her team to easily update and publish which they've done consistently like total pros!
5 | Website
Her website already existed on Kajabi, but new banner images, colors, and fonts make it look like a whole new, improved site. Her team made all the updates and even created the cutest puppy and kitten interactive buttons. Really, you should check them out. 🐶
The new brand for VetCoach International is such a fun example of my Signature Brand Package. If you're a veterinarian who's ready to love your life and profession again or simply a pet owner who needs to stop overfeeding Fluffy, follow Nadina on LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook here and here.
How does Nadina feel about the final result?
“I knew from the moment I met Michelle that we'd work together someday because I deeply admired the branding she did for my colleagues. She has an uncanny ability to see you in such a magical way that I call her "The Good Witch of Canada!"
Sometimes the depth and thoroughness of her questions was uncomfortable, but the complete trust I had in her helped me be open and vulnerable. Our work together peeled back that last layer of who I really am. It was a profoundly transformative process and the reward was HIGH! 💥
Now my brand feels like HOME—more alive, more fun, MORE SPARKLES! If you have any hesitations, don't hold back. Lean in, TRUST, and Michelle will weave her magic!” ✨💖
